The DataPLANT consortium is developing innovative solutions for research data management in the context of the National Research Data Infrastructure (Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur - NFDI) in the field of plant biology, and includes the University of Kaiserslautern, the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the Research Center Jülich. In particular, the focus is on automated solutions for handling research data as well as their annotation, processing and visualization. The main goal is to tailor such solutions, including software tools, for plant biological processes. A particular challenge here is the very large amounts of data that have to be processed in everyday research.
